I hope you can assist me in my predicament though. Am quite new here in Davao and am not really that confident when it comes to going around the city as for some reason, I always get lost.

Hi Smart – I’m not the best person to get directions from when it comes to Davao.
Here’s what I know, maybe someone else can be more specific:
You need to take one of the ferries across to Samal Island. You can either take the ferry going to Kinawitnon, which can carry people or vehicles, or the passenger ferry only that lands right in Babak. You can catch the Island City Express bus at various locations in Davao that will take you across the vehicle ferry. Here’s my article on the ports: Samal Ferry Ports It appears that you are just near these ports and can take JP Laurel to the wharfs.
I don’t know the exact location of Marex, but I understand it is near the Monfort Bat Caves, which are a little north of Babak proper.
I found this bit of info:
Marex Beach Resort is situated at Sitio Baybay in Barangay Tambo, 20 minutes drive from Babak District of the Island Garden City of Samal. It is five minutes away from the renowned Monfort Bat Cave.
Unless you are driving you’ll probably need to grab a motorcycle ride once you get off the ferry.
I hope that helps and as I said, maybe someone with more knowledge of Davao can help.

But got around to calling Marex’s staff earlier so was able to ask for directions.

I’ve never heard of it myself. On my last trip to Samal I noticed many resorts I’d never heard. They change constantly. I’ve no idea how these owners get the word out of their resorts. They seem very disorganized and lack customer service for the most part.

I’m not sure where IGB is specifically but to get to Samal, take the ferry at Sasa. Then you can take a single motor to your destination. You can also take the island bus to Samal. If you need to know where Catagman is, try Google Maps.
